What to Expect through Security

A government issued ID will be need to be presented at 3 points in the airport: the check-in desk, the security check point, and at the gate.

In order to get through security, you must present a valid boarding pass for that day. This pass can be printed out at the check-in desk.

*Passengers only need to go to the check-in desk if they both need a boarding pass and to check luggage. Boarding passes can be printed out at kiosks located throughout the airport.

The amount of checked luggage each passenger is allowed depends on the airline's regulations.

Each passenger is allowed 1 carry-on item and 1 personal bag.

The bags taken through security cannot contain any banned items or any liquid or gel bottles over 3 ounces.

For the carry-ons, a 3-1-1 rule should be followed: 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin.

Only ticketed passengers are allowed through security but for passengers traveling alone, it can be arranged for a parent or guardian to accompany the passenger to the gate.

All passengers must remove their coat and shoes when going through security.

The lines can be long for security so it is usually recommended to get to security an hour before your flight's departure.
