Wow, it's hard to believe the semester is already over! I know one thing forsure I will never be able to watch Sunday Morning again without thinking about our great class discussion. I feel like our class went really well and resulted in a lot of improvement, as shown by everyone's episodes. I really hope that everyone had as much fun in this class as I did from group singing to meditating it was all a great experience! I feel everything we learned from this class will, but be a huge help in our years to come here at Allegheny. Hopefully our next FS course will be just as beneficial.

Good luck on finals everyone and have a great break!

I really enjoyed the episodes for this week. I found myself feeling like I was actually watching a real episode of Sunday Morning! I especially liked Didem’s story about McKinley's. It was interesting to see that everyone around us has great advice; it's just up to ourselves to seek it. I also really enjoyed Julia's segment on Habitat for Humanity. Before this I never really knew Allegheny was involved in this and had a group in which allows you to help out. I feel that everyone has done a really great job and it’s neat to see how much each and every one of us have improved over the semester!

I really enjoyed the exercises we did in class this past week. The mediating was a nice way to relax our busy minds and find a way to connect with ourselves. It was really interesting to hear how predictable our minds are. For example he would say, "Your mind is beginning to wander." This was amazing to me that he could know exactly when my mind started to slip away. The whole exercise opened a whole new perspective on meditation. Up until this point I always thought of mediation to be religious. Now I see that there are many different uses for meditation, many in which can benefit students here at Allegheny. I feel at this time in the year it is very important for all of us to take a minute to step back and just breathe. Things are beginning to become very overwhelming so with this new skill we acquired in class I feel it will be very helpful.

At the end of our Sunday Morning journey I am somewhat sad to be honest! I really came to enjoy the show and look forward to our class discussions. However, I feel that we pulled some very important skills and ideas from this show. For example, we learned to deeply connect with the material presented to us. Also we expanded our knowledge on dreams, age, music, art and many other important issues in today’s society. I really liked how you tied psychology in with these stories; it amazed me how much it relates to everything that’s going on around us. All in all this experience was a well benefited one that leaves me with the desire to take a deeper look into the little things in life, instead of just focusing on the stories in the news. I look forward to continuing my Sunday Morning experience even after this class, hopefully everyone else will do the same!

From this week I really enjoyed our discussion on the segment "Dream on" from Sunday Morning. We came up with a great deal of possibilities as to why we dream. The big question that arose and that I still wonder is, do dreams have a greater meaning? From all the 'dream analysis' books you come across today, you would be influenced to say yes. However, I really do not think we are sure as to the exact answer. I think this whole topic is very interesting and really hope researchers spend more time on it. As to my person opinion I feel dreams do have a greater meaning then just what you go to bed thinking of. I would hope to say they signify something greater then you or I could control, but who knows maybe dreams are really as Sigmund Freud said, "The royal road to the unconscious."

Just something to think about as you rest up this weekend. Have a good weekend!
