Schedules

Fall Schedule:

-Open Gyms each week day as soon as you arrive at school

-Lifting is done on own time. There is a work out packet given but it is not mandatory. You can do your own program if you would rather but if you need help, assistant Coach Drahos or guys on the team will give you a work out. Personally, the given work out is not the best but there are good lifts as we also have a fitness nut on the team, Alex. He has helped me out with my lifting as I have combined his with the team's program. This is an area that the team needs to work on the most. There are a handful of guys that lift during the season but the number is too small. I would like to see everyone in there but it is not mandatory. It is up to your work ethic and how driven you are during a long season.

Season Schedule:

-We play Wednesdays and Saturdays. Sunday is our off day and we practice the rest. Practice usually around 2 hours, either 4pm-6pm or 6pm-8pm. Some guys lift after practice. I think this is neccessary.

-Away games are not too far. Most of the schools are in Ohio and we only play the two Indiana teams away every other year.

-We stay overnight in a hotel a couple nights a year but it is not the usual.

-Allegheny is a tough academic school but basketball is not so demanding that you cannot get your work done.

Food:

-Most importantly on hungry college athletes minds is food. We usually get sandwhiches before games and pizza on the bus after games. Golden Corral is a treat but usually you just want to get on the bus and get home after an away game.

Spring:

-Spring is more laid back than fall but there are open gyms everyday. People do not come as much because we are getting ready for finals. It is important to keep playing and keep the skills toned. Lifting is done on your own. We have a new lifting program and we are dedictated to winning. The offseason is the time to get stronger.

Summer:

-Coach will help you find a summer league if you need one. It is expected that you lift and condition on your own. Summer is the time to improve your game.
