Player's Perspective

If you have visited Allegheny or just the website, the phrase "Allegheny Advantage" is everywhere. It may be another catch phrase that you ignore, but here is the current players view of the advantage at playing for Allegheny.

Ben Torsney '08 Post: "If you are playing DIII basketball, you're not going to be making a living playing ball. You're playing because you love basketball and that's what you've done your whole life. We play for the love of the game."

Pete Jones '10 Guard: "I love the guys on the team. Thinking about it, I really don't have any friends that don't play basketball." (You are allowed to have more friends than Pete, but he is a simple man and doesn't need any more because of the quality of guys on the team).

Greg Richards '08 Guard: "I'm not even good at basketball. I just love the game and the guys on the team. Roll down to our crib and chill a while during your visit. I guarantee you'll come here."

Charlie Jaicks '10 Guard: "I love chillin at the crib on the weekends. All the guys are cool. I love that there never was any hazing garbage in the beginning. That rubish is unneccesary and just brings teams further apart."

We are all DIII athletes. We were all good in high school and played every sport because we love sports. Everyone here is good at basketball but DIII is pretty much the highest level we can play at. Everyone here plays basketball because we love the game.
