The book She's Not There really opened my eyes to a way of life that I hade never even thought of or really heard about in a realistic setting. I find that Jenny Boylan was a very brave person and it had to of taken so much to deal with societies pressures. I think that transgenderism is biological. It is hard for me to see it any other way after reading this book because Jenny would have really liked to of not had her "problem". If it was just a chioce she could have just choose to not be transgendered.
The comment or question at the end of class about plastic surgery really made me think. I thought it was a great point to bring up. I see having surgery to change your gender being a "reconstructive" surgery not as a plastic one. I think there is a big motivational difference between the two.
