1.) Stay Calm: Brittanies are very sensitive dogs, and one outburst or mean look can undo all the work you've put in
2.) Tone of Voice: always firm, but never harsh
3.) Hand Gestures: are vital in training your Brittney (for example, while saying the word "sit," accompany your demand with an outstretched face-up "OK" sign with your hand to signal what your dog should do); at this point, it is also important to keep a handful of snacks, so to give your dog incentive for listening
4.) Once your dog has grasped the basics, go on to teach them all kinds of tricks and commands
5.) Have Fun!

-They are not recommended for city-dwellers as they prefer open spaces where they can run freely
-They are very sensitive animals; it takes little more than a stern glance or single word to chastise a Brittany
-You must be extremely careful not to be too harsh during training, or else it may be possible to break a dog's spirit
-If this happens, the dog may become timid and anti-social
