Scholarship

Kappa Alpha Theta recognizes the importance of a great education and encourages all members to strive for academic excellence.

Sisters spent over 2,151 hours studying in approved academic buildings on campus last spring semester. The numbers are in for the fall semester, and we have surpassed 3,000 hours!

The KAΘ Kite Race is a competition between the classes for earning the most scholarship points. Points are awarded for:

  • earning ?A? and ?B? grades on tests, assignments, presentations, etc.

  • not skipping class

  • spending hours studying in approved academic buildings on campus

The class with the most points at the end of the semester is rewarded with a pizza party!

Kappa Alpha Theta also recognizes sisters who achieve their goals and earn personal honors by acknowledging them as a ?Kite Katchers?.

Academic success is also rewarded at the Scholarship Banquet held at the end of every semester in the suite. Awards are given out to sister who spend the most time studying, earn the most Kite Race points, and earn the highest GPA for their respective class. Scholarship pearls that can be attached as dangles to our badge are given as gifts to sisters who earn the highest GPA or improve the most, and these pearls are a symbol of their academic success. Sisters who meet their semester GPA goal are also recognized at this time.

Theta's average GPA for the Spring 2006 semester was a 3.25!
The all-college average the Spring 2006 semester was a 3.06
