Minutes: Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Those in attendance: Jenn Landolina, Ryann Wahl, Jessica Dipietro, Jessica Minsterman, Serenity McCarthy-Arnone, Natasha Beatty, Heather Balas, Abbe Machi, Rebecca Lendyak, Laura Bromley, Lexie Kane, Melissa Bromley

What we covered:
1. People signed up to talk to their psych classes about Psi Chi applications

2. There will be a grad school panel with several psychology and neuroscience professors on Friday, October 23rd from 12 noon - 1 or 1:20 PM in CC 301/302. Bring your own lunch, but cookies and cider will be provided for refreshments! Rebecca Lendyak volunteered to make flyers for the event. Thanks Rebecca!!! :)

3. We discussed trying to bring a speaker about stress disorders, etc, in order to spark interest in a support group for those on campus who have anxiety or stress and are having trouble dealing with it. This will be discussed more in the future...

4. We are trying to get a group together to participate from 4:30-5 PM on Saturday November 21st in the Shake it up Dance-a-thon. Psi Chi will be working with Neuro Club and Psych club, and if there are enough people signed up, the cost should be less than $5 per person. No matter what, the cost would not be above $5 and with that, you get a t-shirt, free pizza, and opportunities to win really cool raffle prizes! George Swinston is coordinating the group . All proceeds are donated to Autism Outreach of Northwestern Pennsylvania.

5. Some ideas for events for Halloween were tossed around, including carving pumpkins for professors and making caramel apples!! Yum! Any other ideas are greatly appreciated!

6. Pins and certificates were passed out to those who were supposed to receive them.
