INTERDISCIPLINARY MINORS

Lesbian and
Gay Studies
An interdisciplinary minor which combines two core courses focused
on lesbian and gay issues with courses that connect these issues to
other cultural themes. Liberal Studies 207 Human Sexual Identity,
and Liberal Studies 306 Cultural Construction of Sexuality are required.
In addition to the cultural context courses listed below, students may
request to have a specific course counted for the minor with the permission
of the instructor and the coordinators. Independent study courses are
also eligible for the minor. The minor requires 20 credits. The minor
coordinators are Professors Jennifer
Hellwarth and Linda Shafer.
A committee whose membership includes Professors Sarah Buck, William
Bywater, Deb Dickey, Jennifer Hellwarth, Judith Rose, Linda Shafer,
Ishita Sinha Roy, and Glen Wurst administers the minor.
