A study of the political, social, intellectual, and artistic manifestations of German culture and civilization. For more information, contact Prof. Jochen Richter.

Course Requirements for the German Studies Minor:

  • Take at least two of the following courses taught in German:
     
    • German 225 Intermediate German II (or 245 or 265 taught in Cologne)
    • German 285 German Short Fiction
    • German 305 Advanced German in a Cultural Context
    • German 310 Advanced German in a Literary Context
    • German 315 Advanced Language Practice in an Authentic Cultural Context (taught in Cologne)
    • German 325: German Culture
    • German 345 Special Topics in German Literature and Culture (taught in Cologne)
    • German 350 Topics in German Literature
    • German 360 Topics in German Culture
    • German 440 Seminar in Literature

    •  
  • Take at least three of the following courses taught in English:

    • History 217 History of Modern Germany (taught in Cologne)
