Daniel M. Shea of
Oneonta, New York recieved his Bachelors of Arts from State University
of New York (Oswego); Masters of Arts from University of West
Florida; Ph.D. from State University of New York (Albany). He
is the founder of the Center for Political Participation (CPP)
here at Allegheny. Currently Professor Shea is instrumental in
the creation of the Soap Box Alliance. The Soap Box Alliance is
a group of institutions, Allegheny included, that are working
towards holding open campaign events on campus. This means should
a candidate, such as Barack Obama, be brought here to speak, the
event would be open to people outside of the campus community.
