The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Reports
President’s Report.
The bylaws (Revision 9-14-00) were read, voted on, and passed unanimously by
the attendees of the meeting.
Committee head nominees were approved:
Outreach – Jennifer Lesko and Kelly Robertson
Activities – Dave Mihalcik
Communications – Dru Turk
Vice President’s Report.
An explanation of being a Chemii affiliate was given and the need to have at
least six affiliates to maintain the club’s good-standing recognition by the
American Chemical Society.
Treasurer’s Report.
Goggle and model kit sales were discussed and the TA’s of each laboratory period
who sold the products were thanked.
Old Business. None.
New Business
The preliminary calendar of events for Fall 2000/Spring 2001 was proposed and approved. The anticipated events along with the approximate dates were:
First Semester Activity Fair – September 6
Middle School Visits – October 19
National Chemistry Week – End of October
Lord Lecture: Dr. George Whitesides, technical talk during Junior Seminar time
(sponsor refreshments). November 1
Second Semester Activity Day (First District) – February 25
Career Panel – February/March
March Month of Service
Elementary School Visits – March/April
Also proposed – Make a Difference Day, Roundtable (informal, learn other people’s interests), Lectures (alumni – job perspectivies)
