The Green Gator: your little green book for big change

Allegheny's Center for Economic and Environmental Development (CEED), in collaboration with the Civic Engagement Council (CEC), invite students, faculty and staff to explore practical ways each of us can reduce our environmental impact. To help you get started, they have published “The Green Gator: your little green book for big change,” a 14-page booklet that provides local facts, as well as suggestions and resources about environmental stewardship, including information about traditional strategies such as recycling and energy conservation to newer ideas including eco-travel, green shopping and local and organic food. The booklet was designed by CEC intern David Valentine '10 in response to recommendations from students in Professor Amara Geffen's FS 102 Climate Change, Art and Activism (spring 2008). The Green Gator logo was developed by students in Professor Jennifer DeHart's Environmental Science Junior Seminar (fall 2007) with assistance from Penny Frank, Graphic Designer with Public Affairs. Download the guide here. A limited number of copies are also available at the following offices: Sustainability Coordinator (Physical Plant), CEED (please note that our new office is located on the second floor of Pelletier Library), Development, Admissions and Public Affairs.
