Blue Dog Throws Its Hat Into the Ring
by Hank Lewis

Out of Meadville Pennsylvania, advertising agency Blue Dog Inc. has opened its offices. Promising "the future of advertising," the executives promise a new era of innovation.

"Our strategy is to aim at new businesses," CEO Matt Gelles said. "We are a new business ourselves, and sticking with what we know is certainly a help."
"You have to think of this, most new businesses want to do something new, they don't want to act like the old businesses but they don't know how to do it. Well, we don't want to do thing the same way either, and we can show them how to stand out."

As part of it's new program, Blue Dog intends to rely on integrated marketing campaigns for all issues, regardless of whether they are on a small or large scale.
"People always look to IMC as something done on very big scales, like the ones that only reach a national audience," Gelles said. "Why can't IMC be played out on a smaller scale, like on a township or county level? It may sound small, but we're rewriting the rules here."

Although making a splash in the commercial world is Blue Dog's current priority, the Agency also hinted that they would like to try some public service work in the future. If so, they would begin in as little as a few months away, and would target the Crawford County community.

"Like I said, we're willing to bend the rules, even if it doesn't sound like we're changing the world. Coca-Cola may have done well for themselves by creating huge ads with no one in particular in mind, but look at the competition. Red Bull made the gains by tapping into methods no one had ever heard of. If we are willing to cross boundaries like they did, we can impact the market, and if we apply that to create social good, we can be very effective there as well."
