Once you make the decision to join Alpha Chi Omega, you will be welcomed into our chapter during a time called the new member period. This process is an opportunity for you to continue to get to know the sisters and other new members, to learn more about the traditions and heritage of Alpha Chi Omega, and to enter into the bonds of sisterhood. The new member process is intended to promote the development of positive relationships, not to encourage embarrassing or unpleasant situations.  Upperclass women go out of their way to make you feel welcome and fun activities await you around each and every corner!  You can expect to make a fairly substantial time commitment to the new member process, but we can guarantee that it will be the best experience you’ve had at Allegheny thus far! During your new member period, you will also be given the opportunity to become a part of a smaller Alpha Chi family, a family within a family!  Each of you will get a Big Sister who will be there to support and guide you through your Alpha Chi experience.  Whether you have questions about Alpha Chi, homework, or boys, your Big Sister will be there for you every step of the way! Here at the Delta Chapter, our cherished history and tradition allows you to become part of a family that has been around for over 120 years, so this tradition has become something very special to us. Whether you become part of the Glam Fam, the Rockstar Fam, or any of our other wonderful families, your Alpha Chi family will be family for life.
