A seminar on chemistry research and communication. Students are trained on literature searching strategies using databases such as STN Online and Science Citation Index. Using these skills, students research a topic of current interest in the primary literature in order to develop a 20-minute talk to deliver to other students and faculty. Additionally, students are provided a perspective on chemistry research within the department through faculty research presentations, and at other institutions through seminars by invited speakers. Three semester hours.
