Allegheny students are expected to know and understand all College
policies as described in the catalog,
including academic
regulations and graduation
requirements.
Above all, you should not overlook the many deadlines that one needs
to meet for an on-time graduation. In particular, if you are in your
second, third, or fourth semester, you must complete an APL assignment
to be submitted to your advisor. If you are a Murphree advisee, please
go to the appropriate link at right for instructions on the assignment.
Please note that assignments turned in late will receive no credit.
Also, all students must get their advisor's approval to register.
If you are a Murphree advisee, approval will be given only after a
proposed schedule is sent by e-mail. The schedule must include class
numbers and titles, section numbers, and meeting times. I also encourage
advisees to make an appointment to discuss the schedule before registering.
The College requires that a major and minor be declared before one
can register for third-year classes. However, if you are contemplating
a particular major or minor before that time, you should initiate
discussions with faculty members in that department to make yourself
aware of the best way to structure your curriculum.
Self-designed majors and minors are allowed, but there are guidelines
that must be followed, and the appropriate paperwork must be submitted
to the Registrar's Office.
If you have questions about the APL assignments, or indeed any issues
with your academic career, please do not delay in seeing me.
