All events are free and open to the public. The Art Galleries are wheelchair accessible. Please call ahead to verify; programs subject to change. The Art Galleries are located in Doane Hall of Art, east of North Main St. between College and John Streets. Allegheny College Art Galleries were opened in 1970 and consist of Bowman Gallery, Penelec Gallery, and Megahan Gallery, which together total 4,000 square feet.

September 5 - October 3
Beggars and Choosers: Motherhood is Not a Class Privilege in America, documentary photographs regarding motherhood, policy, politics
Son of Noir, contemporary graphic influences in works by 8 artists
Lecture by curator Rickie Solinger and opening reception: Tues., Sept. 5, 7-9 p.m.

Faculty & Alumni Exhibit, including alumnus J. Arvid Klein

Asian Influences in Contemporary Ceramics, works by 5 artists
The Educated Brush, paintings and prints by 3 artists
Asian Prints, woodcuts from the Allegheny College Collection
Diane Shafer Graham, Ph.D., curator of "The Educated Brush" and adjunct art history faculty at Allegheny College, will present a slide lecture on Tues., Nov. 7 at 7 p.m., with a reception for the opening of all 3 exhibits at 8 p.m.
