Map 1
Getting to Allegheny College, Department of Environmental
Science

The distance between each concentric
line is approximately 100 miles.
- By plane: Airline service to the area is most readily
available through Erie and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
(Pittsburgh is the easier connection.) From either
the Erie or Pittsburgh airport, you can connect with
Greyhound bus lines or rent a car for the trip to Meadville.
Students travelling alone can be met at the Erie airport
by an Allegheny representative if arrangements are
made beforehand.
- By bus: Greyhound bus lines serve Meadville daily
with round trips both north and south bound. A taxi
service can transport you to the College from the bus
station in downtown Meadville (about six blocks from
campus). There is also local bus service from the Meadville
Greyhound station to Allegheny departing at 9 minutes
past the hour Monday - Saturday, 9 am - 5:30 pm, with
earlier and later departures some days. Contact Crawford
Area Transportation Authority at 814-336-5600 for complete
schedule information.
- By car: The map above illustrates the major interstate
routes that lead to the Meadville area. Use the Meadville
map below.

The City of Meadville
-
To get to the City of Meadville from I-79, take Exit
147A. From Exit 147A, travel
on Route 322 East. Take the Park Avenue Exit and
follow Park Avenue straight through town. After
six (6) traffic lights, turn right onto Chestnut
Street. At the next traffic light, turn left
to go around Diamond Park and turn right onto North
Main Street. After two traffic lights, bear
right up the hill to Allegheny College. Use
the map of Meadville above. Signs pointing the
way to campus have been posted on this route
through Meadville to aid you in finding the College.
After you pass the main gates of
campus (a low curved brick wall on the left), take
the second left turn onto Allegheny Street. Before
the first stop sign, turn left into the parking lot.
The building is Steffee Hall of Life Sciences and it
houses the Department of Environmental Science, as
well as the Department of Biology.

printable map of campus is available here.
