New Year Sophomores! Description: APL 202 is the final course in this 3 course sequence in which students explore their interests and design a program of study and co-curricular activities that meets with their academic, professional, and life goals. Allegheny students are required to declare a major and a minor by the end of their sophomore year. After you have accumulated 75 credits, you will be unable to register without declaring a major. The work you completed in FS 101, APL 102 and 201 should have prepared you to select a major and minor. For APL 202, choosing, justifying and declaring an academic major and minor are your primary tasks. In the process of declaring a major, you wil be expected to find an advisor within your major department. Since I will be on leave beginning Fall 2008, even if you are majoring in Neuroscience, Biology, or Biochemistry you need to choose another advisor. You can declare your major and minor at any point in the semester. Course requirements: APL 202 is graded on a credit/no credit basis. To receive credit for this course, you must complete 1 written assignment ON TIME (and following the instructions) and meet with me at least once during the semester. If you would like to meet with me at any point in the semester, though, you should feel free to set up an appointment or just drop by my office hours! The other requirement for APL 202 is to bring me a completed major/minor declaration form with the signature of your new advisor at any point during the semester, but no later than the assignment due date.
