Welcome to Allegheny College and to the First Seminar on Resolving Conflict!  This course is designed to give you insight into conflict and its resolution, particularly from a psychological point of view, in a wide range of relationships: between couples and friends, between neighbors or other social groups, and between ethnic groups in international settings. I also hope that through this course you will develop communication and conflict resolution skills that will be useful to you in college and throughout life. This web site:

• gives information about the course, including the syllabus, reading list, and a list of assignments;
• provides links for you to read in advance regarding our case studies; and
• collects resources that may be relevant to you as you work through the assignments and readings.
