Ongoing Projects:
Structure in the Solar System:

• Interactions of radiation with molecules in the protodisk around the protosun.
• The disk cooled in just certain rings.
• Eventually planets were formed from these rings.

Non-linear Optics:

• I work with Dr. David Statman, another member of the Allegheny Physics Department, in the area of non-linear optics.
• Statman and students use laser radiation to investigate the non-linear properties of some crystals and liquid crystals.
• My contribution has been to write computer programs that simulate the experimental results. When parameters are found that cause simulations to match the observed results, information is gained concerning the crystals.
