EXACTLY! As the title suggests, this is exactly what I am doing. Currently, I am already studying abroad and soon I will be studying off-campus in Washington, D.C. This is not where everything ends; I will be going to China for 3 weeks from D.C. as part of my semester. So, what exactly am I doing? I don't know the answer to this question either but one thing I know for sure; it is definitely worth it.
I am not at all worried about anything at this point as I just want to get out of Meadville. Coming from a city of 20 million people, to a small rural town in Western Pennsylvania was indeed a great transition. Now, I want to further explore my opportunities living in D.C.
Although, I have never been to the places where everyone else is going for Study Abroad, but I sure can understand the anxiety of studying abroad. I am glad that most of you got this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I know it is hard thinking all the things you will miss here, like birthdays, parties, weddings, anniversaries, home made food, mom, dad, siblings, dogs, cats, driving on the ā??WRONG Sideā?? of the road, football (the only game where ball is not spherical), and Presidential elections. But believe me, if you keep thinking about all this you will not only miss what you canā??t have (while you are abroad) but you will also miss what you have (all the things that are there at your study abroad location). So what is the best way to deal with it? Yes, keep yourself busy so you donā??t get time to think about all this. You donā??t want to miss this opportunity. Make the most out of it.
With these departing thoughts, I should start studying for my finals and hope I can control my excitement about my Study Abroad- Off campus- Study Abroad semester!
