Flamenco!!!!
This picture is of some women in customary spanish dress. This was one of my favorite outings here in Spain. I have spoken about it before. I went to what they call a Feria, which is a place where people get together, drink, dance, eat, and have a good time.
These women represent the formalness of Spanish culture. They are dressed to the nines, in their flamenco dresses, with all matching accessories. These dresses are very expensive, but that does not matter. Every woman has one, and wears it proudly for cultural celebrations.
I was jealous, because all of these women were dancing a dance I did not know, in a dress that I really wanted to try on, just to fit in. Cultural dress is really important to the people of Spain, and this picture represents that aspect of life here. Honoring tradition, and passing time with family and friends is one of the most important things to the people of Spain, that all else seems insignificant.
