I teach Media and Cultural Studies at a private liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania. The four-year degree undergraduate program is designed around close academic and mentoring interactions between faculty and students. Seniors have to write and successfully defend an independent Thesis research project as a graduation requirement. The Allegheny College education prepares its graduates to be well-rounded global citizens.

My primary research interest is in nation branding, or the strategic designing and marketing of national identity by different countries, specifically in a post-911 world. I teach a broad range of classes ranging from introductory core courses in media and cultural/crtical studies, to specially designed topics courses and seminars that take a critical look at current media issues and how they form and inform identity, memory, politics, community, and culture.
