| Giordano Bruno was an Italian philosopher who held many controversial and unorthodox scientific views (an infinite universe and multiple worlds, anticipated elements in modern science, and atomic theory). Due to these contradictory views of the world to that of the Roman Catholic Church, Bruno was burned at the stake in 1600 under the Venetian Inquisition as a heretic. |
