Pelletier Library Electronic Reserve
Direct access to primary research articles and reviews listed on your "Peroxidase Reference List". The password will be announced in class -- you may e-mail the TAs if you should forget.
Plant Physiology Journals
Direct access to articles published in Plant Physiology, The Plant Cell, PNAS, International Journal of Plant Science, and Annual Review of Plant Physiology and Plant Molecular Biology is available via Pelletier Library's electronic journals website.
Printing online articles: Make sure that you select the "pdf" version of papers you intend to print. Unlike the "html" version of articles, "pdf" files are formatted so that the printed article will look like the original hardcopy. This means that you won't have to struggle with invisible or miniscule figures etc. By downloading pdf files, you will activate the Adobe Acrobat Reader program on college computers. This program is also available for free for installment on your personal computer.
Pelletier Library Gateway Site to external databases:
This site provides an alphabetical list of databases that Pelletier Library subscribes to. You can access each database from here by clicking on the correct link.
Both AGRICOLA and Plant Science are excellent databases for plant-related research. They are very easy to use, because you can enter and link keywords without having to understand the mysteries of boolean operators etc.
"Web Of Science" is another excellent database with added search options. Select "General Search " to get yourself started. Once you have found one good/important article on your subject, this database will also allow you to find any newer articles that have cited this seminal paper.
This site allows you to search for scholarly articles that are freely available on the web. Notice, however, that you will also get a lot of abstracts for which the article is NOT freely available, and hence useless to you. Sometimes you can still access the article, if Allegheny subscribes to the journal electronically. To find out, if this is the case, type the journal name into the search box on Pelletier Library's electronic journals website.

Plant Stress Page. A great starting place to learn about drought, salinity, heat, cold, mineral deficiency and mineral toxicity effects on plants.
Wisconsin Fast Plants. Growing instructions for Brassica rapa, background information on B. rapa as an experimental system, information on available mutants.
Botany Online Internet Hypertextbook. A great way to quickly look up basic facts on plants. If you have forgotten about seedling structure or photosynthesis, or if you need to look up a word in a primary research article, this might be just the site for you.
