The Cognitive Group

The Cognitive Group is an informal group of students and faculty who meet bi-weekly to discuss research in the area of Cognitive Psychology, including studies of attention & perception, memory, language, and problem solving. The group hosts student and faculty presentations of research, brainstorming sessions, and discussions of recent articles of interest to students.

Past meetings have examined the relationship between IMing and anxiety, the importance of sleep to memory consolidation, the functional role of superstitions, false memories across the lifespan, whether schools kill creativity, the use of eyetracking in attentional research, and the influence of technology on gossip.

To receive more information about the Cognitive Group, or to be added to the group's listserv, contact Professor Knupsky or Professor Wiseman. You can also visit my blog (using the link above) to read summaries of Cognitive Group meetings as well as descriptions of recent work in the field and from my lab.
