Some Tips on the
Writing of Lab Reports.
- Please use the standard report format of (introduction-library
research - hypotheses or purpose) Method (Participants,Apparatus,Materials
& Procedure), Results, Discussion and References. Please use APA style
in references (see http://webpub.alleg.edu/dept/psych/Writing.html#References)
.
- please -- note the section
on Plagiarism and the Honor Code. Labs are to be prepared independently. Reference
to newspapers, unreviewed pamphlets, "pop" magazines, unreviewed websites,
encyclopedias or dictionaries will be penalized {see http://psych.hanover.edu/Krantz/journal.html
or http://www.psych-central.com/
for lists of reviewed electronic journals}).**
- Please document any problems you had with the lab and,
in particular, please note the range of impedance levels of your electrodes.
- Note that it is not sufficient to only show graphs from
the computers. Each graph must be properly labeled as a figure (e.g. Fig 1)
and all of the channels must be identified. When discussing a graph please
refer to the Fig # and the channel # to discuss the record.
- Please answer the specific questions for each lab after
the discussion or as part of the discussion.
- In the purpose section, please include a reference for
similar work performed in this century or close to the turn of the century.
- Please limit your reports to 1 page (250-300 words - excluding
figures).
