CLC Updater #2

Hello again. These past few weeks the CLC planning team has been working hard and things are coming together quite well for CLC. The itinerary has almost been finalized, and even though we will keep quite busy during the week, there will be many opportunities to socialize and have fun as well. As of right now it looks as though we will be traveling down to Slippery Rock for a Low-Ropes course on Tuesday morning. (For those of you who have previously been on CLC, this means that unfortunately, the canoe trip will not happen this year.) Dave Valentine and I have worked on the menu for the week and that is now in place, and we are working on ordering t-shirts this week.

If you have any questions or comments, as always, feel free to let us know. Also, don't forget, if you haven't already, that you need to send in your health and confirmation form by 5pm today or else your spot on CLC cannot be guarenteed.

Hope you are all are having fun this summer.

CLC Updater #1

Greetings to all you CLCers out there. If you’re reading this then you’ve probably figured out that we have created a blog for and about CLC. The purpose of the blog is to keep students current about CLC over the summer, as well as enable students to post questions, comments, and suggestions concerning CLC. The blog will be updated once every week or two, and you’ll be able to post comments, questions, etc. at any time.

For those of you who have left all recollections of school in Meadville, CLC will be taking place from Sunday August 10th to Thursday August 14th at the McKeever Environmental Center, approximately 30 minutes south of campus. Before attending CLC, you all need to complete the student health form, which is due June 20th and can be found here Each day, CLC will begin around 9am (give or take) and planned activities will end sometime in the evening. However, there will be some social time during the day to relax, play some beach volleyball, basketball, or just chill and do whatever. You’ll learn more about what we’ll do each day as we get closer to CLC.

Ashleigh Musyt is making her debut as CLC program coordinator, and has 6 students coordinators to assist her with the planning and execution. They are Jordan Brooks, Deb Burnett, Ryan Cole, Willie Gore, Greg Merz (that’s me) and Dave Valentine. If you have any questions, comments, etc., feel free to email Ashleigh at amusyt@allegheny.edu or myself at merzg@allgheny.edu . You can also give us a shout at 814-332-2381 or 814-332-4700.

Hope you all are having a great start to your summer and we hope to hear from you soon! Feel free to start posting…

-Greg
