Fencing

The Allegheny Fencing Club has approximately twenty-five active members, consisting of students, faculty and staff, and members of the Meadville community. The club is a member of the Western Pennsylvania division of the United States Fencing Association (USFA) and members fence in USFA sanctioned tournaments in Meadville, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Kent and Erie. Currently, the group fences foil and epee. Although committed fencers are encouraged to purchase their own gear, the club has equipment to help new fencers get started. The club meets three days each week in the Wise Center dance studio. Practices include group drills, one-on-one lessons and practice bouts. Fencers of all ability levels are welcome to join a practice.
