Woodcock Creek Lake Canoeing

Following a week of beautiful weather a storm rolled in preventing several Allegheny adventurers from searching the mysterious waters of Woodcock Creek for the legendary Beaver of Doom on Sunday, April 1, 2007. Not to be deterred, a few brave souls made their way to Bossard in the rain and found themselves a picturesque stream and forest trail. Among other things discovered was an abandoned bridge, small waterfalls, and a particularly interesting patch of moss.

Pymatuning State Park

A two-day canoe excursion of Pymatuning Lake September 9-10, 2006 proved to be a great time for a group of Allegheny students. Despite a thunderstorm that poured rain and hail down on the twenty person group, spirits remained high and the trip finished on a dry note. The group paddled for a total of seven hours which equated to about ten miles of canoeing. The other residents of the campsite were very friendly, perhaps too friendly, including the resident skunk of the camp!
