2. Equipment may be checked out from and returned to the Media Services Department only. The main circulation desk cannot accept equipment at any time. You will be required to stay at the Media Services window while a staff person checks your equipment return. Please allow for this time. 3. The loan period is 24 hours. Some adjustments must be made to this rule to accommodate Media Services hours. For example, equipment borrowed Thursday evening is due by 12:45 pm on Friday since the Department is not open Friday afternoon or evening. Similar allowances are made for weekend hours. If needed, there will be one 24 hour renewal period granted. You may call the Media Services Department at 332-4784 to request the renewal. Renewal requests must be made prior to the original due date and time. 4. Any equipment returned later than the stated due time is subject to a $10 fine for the first 24 hours. The fine increases $10 per day for each additional 24 hour period over due. 5. Anyone borrowing equipment must read and sign a form accepting responsibility for the equipment. The agreement reads: I accept responsibility for this equipment while it is in my possession. I understand that I am liable for any repair or replacement cost which may occur through my negligence or abuse. Please note that if you loan equipment under your signature to another class member, YOU remain the responsible party should loss, damage, or a late return occur. 6. Due to the turnover in equipment loans, the Media Services staff does not have time to recharge batteries before loaning them out again. If the equipment loaned to you includes battery packs, it is your responsibility to charge the batteries before returning them. 7. The Media Services staff has no authority to make exceptions to any of the regulations, including the waiving of fines and the length of the equipment loan. In some special cases your instructor may extend loan periods. Please remember, it is your instructor who is the arbiter in these matters. |
