to remember

If you
find a course in the program materials that is not listed below, stop
by the International Office. We will provide you with the forms necessary
to obtain Allegheny course equivalency.

Courses
taken on this program are listed as Capital Normal University transfer
credit on the Allegheny transcript; the grades are NOT factored into
your Allegheny course equivalency. Only courses with a grade of "C"
or above will transfer. Courses will transfer with the number of credits
as listed below (and/or as on the CNU transcript).

Courses
with multiple equivalencies indicate cross-listings only; courses
cannot be counted twice for graduation requirements.

Internship,
case studies and directed research MUST have Allegheny Department
approval for transfer PRIOR to departure. Retroactive approval is
NOT guaranteed!

The China
program is a fall, spring or academic year program.
- Non-credit
courses in dance, art, calligraphy is also offered. Students who want
to earn credit (independent study) for participation in these courses
must make arrangements with an Allegheny faculty member PRIOR to departure.

Chinese Language Courses

Language
courses at CNU will include grammar, speaking, reading, writing,
and listening comprehension. Depending on their language level,
Allegheny students may earn CHI 120, 215, 225, 325, or 3TE or
4TE (a total of 12 credits of language may be used toward the
Chinese Language Minor.)
