Pennsylvania Research

Many geology students have found a wealth of research oppurtunities close to out "home" in western Pennsylvania. Over a dozen students have worked with Professor Rachel O'Brien conducting research on the French Creek watershed. Other students have worked with Professor bob Schwartz and Ron Cole on research projects involving the sedimentary and tectonic evolution of the Applachian Mountains and the adjacent foreland basin system. These projects often form the basis for senior projects and are typically multidisciplinary, intergrating several fields of geology.
