Allegheny Geology Field Trips

Catskill Mountains, New York

The Catskill Mountains offer an excellent natural laboratory for Structural Geology students to apply their classroom learning. During this trip students examine the structures across a fold-thrust belt and learn to collect and interpret structural data. Students then complete a geologic report that places their field data into a regional context of mountain buildings and tectonics.
