March 2007:

The movie KilowattOurs, which deals with America's energy issues and how to move forward in a more energy-independent manner, was shown in Quigley 101.

March 2007: Brenda Schmidt, Crawford County Recycling Education Specialist, gave a presentation dealing with recycling on campus, This event was an inauguration for the Local Speaker Series.
March 2007: Asuka Ishizaki, a 2004 Allegheny graduate, shared her experiences and work as a graduate student studying Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism at Colorado State University.
February 2007: Felicity Barringer, Science Writer, The New York Times, gave a talk about the impacts of democracy on climate change, in the Tillotsen Room, Alumni Center.
January 2007: A campus visit and public lecture by Donald A. Brown, author of American Heat: Ethical Problems with the United States’ Response to Global Warming. Brown is the past program manager for UN organizations at the US EPA and current executive director of The Pennsylvania Consortium for Interdisciplinary Environmental Policy (PCIEP).
Valentine’s Day: A local foods fundraiser. Benefits from sales of locally produced products to be used to reduce carbon emissions in the community.
February 2007: All-Department Town Hall Meeting. Faculty, staff and current ES students were on hand to discuss the department curriculum, extra curricular opportunities, and how to reach personal and professional goals. Student panelists provided the inside scoop on a variety of opportunities to help prospective majors become more involved in environmentally related issues. Lunch was provided by the ES Department.
